Normally when I do any transaction - Physical or Online I get an OTP to enter for the transaction to complete
Regret this time around, there was NO OTP, because the transaction was not done by me but seems like an Internal Fraud.
Because while discussing with the Authorities, I was asked to check if there was an SMS alert.
It is not a practice for me to check my phones for the incoming SMS as it is frequent at almost 2 every hour.
I do check for the OTP whenever I do the Transaction.

Last evening I checked my phone for the messages. Since I have an old Nokia instrument, I clicked the image as seen on the camera and post it here below.

Maybe it's time to close shop and change your line of business

If I could wait for 30 days, I am sure 31 will not make me a difference
I wish your team luck in nabbing the thief.

Also you need to check the money trail and identify into which account it has been credited.
Since Mahindra Holidays have denied the Transaction or receipt of the amount.
The account it flew into,  could be the rat hole.

A while earlier I received the below response which I capture and post here. This only depicts the callous nature of how the HDFC Bank staff treat their customers, when instead of resolving the issue and admitting the mistake, they keep asking for 3 days in perpetuity when I enquire of the status of my complaint. The screen on the right is the message I received this evening (30th May 2017)

I received a call this afternoon ( 01/06/2017) at 2:47 pm, from a Telang, who said he was from the Investigation Team, and regretted the delay. Heard my side, and assured to resolve this in 3 working days. I hope he is able to maintain his word and that of the Bank.

I received the below message a while earlier. Below is the message received and in trail is my response

Subject: Cheated on my Credit Card
To: pnohdfcbank@hdfcbank.com

Dear Mr Rao,

I look up my credit card statement only to ensure money is available in my account for full deduction.
In March when I looked up I noticed a mention of Mahindra Holidays
I have nothing to do with Mahindra Holidays
I wrote to them and they have confirmed on date mentioned, no money with my last 4 digits have been received
I have been chasing your Bank to tell me to which account has the money then been credited
I did not respond or receive any OTP, since I did not do any transaction with them
Your staff has been asking me for 3 days every time and now tell me that it is all in order and that I have done the transaction.

My only request now is tell me to which account is this money credited since Mahindras have not received it, and we get hold of the one who has done the crime.
Can you as the Principal Nodal Officer assist me on this
regards

Dear Mr Pramod Nair
Manager-Correspondence

This is better. Matter of fact, when I first blew the whistle,
that this is a false entry, you should have not deducted the amount
and kept it for investigation.

After having deducted, the next best option was to revert this as done in today's mail.

Thirdly, let me tell you that 100 days are completed since I blew the whistle.
However asking for a further 50 days only displays the callousness of the investigating team

Please take the time requested, but we need to get to the bottom of this entire ordeal.
I would like to know from you after 50 days, where this amount was credited
and how it got to his/her account

Thank you

R

Dear Mr Pramod Nair
Manager-Correspondence

In response to your mail I only have to add as below

Since the Money has been Debited from my Account,
it is but Natural that the Credit should also be to my Account.

Crediting my Card in the Interim or as Regular is logically Incorrect.
I hope my thinking is in line with any natural thinking process

You do not Tax Peter and Credit Paul because Peter and Paul are Siblings
regards

R

Last evening and this morning(6th July-12:20pm) I received a call from Ms Neetu asking for some more time to resolve the issue. I said in an earlier message it was mentioned that my Credit Card would be Credited with the amount, and I requested to Credit my Bank Account as it was from here the money was drawn. She asked if I wanted not to get this Money in the Interim. My only contention is that when I raised the Alarm, they should have flagged this transaction as under dispute and not deducted the amount until resolved to mutual satisfaction.
Having deducted the amount the Onus is on me to continue the chase until Credit received. This is Not Service. This is surely not the way business is done.

After Months of Chasing the issue has now come to a partial close with HDFC Credit Card Division reversing the deduction. The Best is yet to come.
