It's unfortunate that we have to be reminded to keep our neighbourhood clean.
And none less than the Prime Minister of India.
My only contention is that we should enforce a system where the one who dirties is made to clean in public, besides being fined.
This one change will bring about the desired change in attitude. Currently all are non chalant about throwing any and all rubbish on the streets, spitting, etc.
Once they are made to clean their immediate surroundings then in a years time we can see the change we wish to see.
Shop keepers are responsible for the space in front of their shops / stores. Street hawkers are equally responsible for their space. Once responsibility is established, then the changes will be visible.
