India 'Condemning' Millions to remain in Poverty : Mittal

India 'Condemning' Millions to remain in Poverty  : Mittal
(Economic Times page 3; dated 21st June)

It is not only about the Government and Governance. Mittal and those of his ilk, forgets they also owe Society as much as they have received from it. It is not their birthright to exploit their underlings. It is about the receivables in any industry or situation, where the max perks are received at the top and the crumbs picked off the floor at the bottom of the pyramid. This is a misconceived notion that it is the top alone that deserves the credit for success. Success can be achieved when every player in the game plays his part and contributes to the targeted goal. We need to create a winning situation and a prosperous society where everyone who contributes gets rewarded. Let us assume these are the different levels in an industry.
Chairman & Managing Director,(10x)
CEO,(9x)
Manager,(7.2x)
Divisional In Charge,(6x)
Foreman,(4x)
Supervisor, (2.5x)
workers (1x)

If say x=Rs 10,000, then the CMD gets max Rs 1 Lakh. Once this definition is accepted / legislated, then in a given industry if the CMD thinks he deserves more, he has to ensure the value of x at the ground level in his organization changes. This one act will create a healthy environment within the organization, and within society.

Recurring Scams

Civic body pays inflated bills in spite of recurring scams.pg 3,TOI dated 15th June 2012
The better way for us to rid society of this scourge is for all Public Expenditure to be in Public Domain. Prior to spending, Proposals have to be placed on a well publicised link of the BMC website for all to view the Tender documents. Any Incorrect Specifications can be corrected by experts in the field as a public response again viewed by all. The rates at which bids are received and approved by concerned officials are all for Public view. This one act will ensure Accountability and save Millions being Siphoned by Corrupt Officials under various pretexts.

Maximise for whom...........

Economic Times page 7 dated 12th June 2012

EGoM may not cut Reserve Price: Panel has added a new clause stating that the objective of sale will be to 'Maximise Revenue Proceeds'. This is absolutely wrong. By ensuring the Floor price of Spectrum is Low, communication rates are low which has a Cascading and Positive effect. Good Tele-communications ensure one need not physically travel to get the message across. This reduces fuel consumption. Also low call rates in cellular calls benefit all Indians, which is the primary prupose of Good governance.
