No Shortage of Water

I have been writing the past decade on water and measures to save every drop.
Today I have realised, actually there is No shortage of Water.
What could be scarce in the future is  treated potable water.

So we need to draw up a plan to ensure we are able to harvest all water that strikes our land mass.
What falls on the mountains can be dammed
What falls on the plains need to be harvested and filtered for basic use
The rest to be harvested to raise the ground water table, and used for sundry purposes. viz: Public Toilets, Car Wash, General cleaning of establishments

Treated water to be metered for every apartment and used only for drinking purposes.
This will ensure all get a fair share of drinking water

Farm to Fork

The Government should encourage Healthy living. Now is the Time to Act
Organic Farm produce should be directed to Gated Communities and other Housing Societies in the metropolis via mini Tempos.

This will eliminate the middlemen and money direct to the hands of the farmer.

Another major fallout will be, that the streets will be FREE of Hawkers.
Once all these handcarts and boxes disappear, the City will have a better look and the streets reclaimed without lifting a finger.

Secondly redesign every district so that at least 80% of essential requirements are produced within the District, and in case of a Calamity, Life does not come to a halt. The produce of the district meets the requirements of the district, be it Milk, Pulses, Grains, Flour, Vegetables, Fruits and Non Veg. Products.

The Next Testing

Now random testing should be applied on all those roaming the streets. They should be tested after proper identification so that traceability is possible if found positive. If positive, then all in their household, and on their contacts will be tested for symptoms.

Why the Rant

Always wanted to know

In 1947, Hindus constituted 12.9% of Pakistan, which made Pakistan (including present day Bangladesh) the second-largest Hindu-population country after India.
In the 1951 census, West Pakistan (now Pakistan) had 1.6% Hindu population, while East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) had 22.05%.

Census data for 1998 shows that the Hindu population of Pakistan (which was formerly west Pakistan) had not really changed significantly from its 1951 level of around 1.5 to 2%.

But the data also suggests that the Hindu population of Bangladesh did fall - from around 22% or 23% in 1951 to around 8% in 2011.
Since you are always debating on the status of Muslims in India, can you enlighten me, on where the Minorities in Pakistan (both East & West) went

Job Loss

The Pandemic has created unforeseen situations.

The Prime Minister keeps repeatedly asking employers not to Terminate employees services on this account, unfortunately my son who works in a 5 Star American Chain has been terminated.

He served for a decade at the Mumbai Branch rising from Sales Executive to Director of Sales. Being stuck in the same position for 3 years, he decided to seek an opportunity with another Chain of Hotels in Hyderabad.

All went well until the GM who appointed him got transferred and the new GM wanted his own man in the position of Director of Sales & Marketing

He began abusing my son in front of his subordinates, that finally my son had no choice but to step down, and seek an opportunity at his earlier place.

They accepted him as a Fresh Candidate as Director of Sales at their Chennai Branch.

He was to be issued the confirmation on 1st April, instead he was asked to seek a job elsewhere. This is not because of his performance, but because the Pandemic has affected the Hotel business.
It would have been better if all had decided to take a pay cut, rather than terminate a few at this time.

Now we stare at an uncertain future, with him being the provider as we are both retired senior citizens. Maybe you won't realize, but if you could ask Hotels the employee list in March and May you will know how many have been terminated

I have given enough pointers in my blog, to get to the Hotel concerned.
Any help in getting him reinstated will help us survive

Unlocking the Lockdown

It has to be a well calibrated exercise. Areas that have No cases reported will be the first to open up, while areas that have active cases will be strictly locked, with absolutely No movement. This will ensure that No violations occur in any future orders issued by the Government.
Farms will open ASAP so that harvesting is possible. Farm labour should be residing in the neighborhood, so that travel is avoided. They should maintain social distance advised, while at work. Next in line to open is manufacturing sector of essential goods. Here too they should be staying in proximity to the manufacturing center.
Goods movement by rail across country and by road within districts.

Nits make Lice

Today there are many video clips showing miscreants damaging the fabric of the Nation. They wish to revolt as advised by their leadership and create pandemonium by their acts. They spit on people, on foodstuff etc

All foodstuff manufacturing units employing people, must have sufficient cameras installed to monitor the acts of these elements.

All Public interfacing  units must have CCTV's installed to ensure there are NO Rogue elements in the system

Any person caught creating disharmony and accelerating the Pandemic must be arrested under the most stringent laws and behind bars for the maximum period. Their advocates too must be treated similarly. No Human Rights evangelists at this time of crisis can arrive to defend them.

Even political leaders who do not toe the line must be warned of being placed under arrest irrespective of their following. All arrests must be discrete though, so that the right message gets through.

Make Hay while the Sun Shines

In National Disasters one can understand seeking contributions towards the National Disaster Fund, but seeking contributions has to be done only by the Prime Minister, so that all money gets collected in one Account and distributed as fit.

It is sad to see political representatives of all hues, now release an appeal to contribute to their personal NGO's and have their followers spike the cause.

No one should be permitted to do such collections at times of calamity. If any, they should be in sync with the National cause and only espouse the National Disaster Fund.

Money collected till date from their constituency should be handed over to the National Disaster Fund
